What I Ate In Disneyland Paris

Chamagne and Popcorn as part of what I ate in Disneyland Paris

Paris is known for having delicious food, but what about Disneyland Paris? There was so much I wanted to try, you can only eat so much in two days! But what I ate in Disneyland Paris was incredible! The quality, variety and flavors were top notch. On top of that, the dining plan was fantastic. So pull up a chair and let’s eat!

Disneyland Paris Dining Plans

Before we talk about what I ate in Disneyland Paris, we should talk about the dining plan I chose. There are three options in Disneyland Paris that then have tiers based on where you are staying and your dining preferences. The three options are:

  • Breakfast Only – All you can eat buffet at your resort
  • Half Board – AYCE buffet at your resort and lunch OR dinner at a restaurant of your choosing across Disneyland Paris
  • Full Board – AYVE buffet at your resort, lunch AND dinner at a restaurant of your choosing across Disneyland Paris

Dining Plan Tiers

Where you are staying determines what initial tier your meal plan is in. For example, if you are staying at Davy Crockett Ranch or Hotel Santa Fe you automatically have the standard tier. If you are staying at Newport Bay or Hotel New York you automatically have the plus tier and Disneyland Hotel automatically has the premium tier. So what’s the difference? Well the breakfast is elevated depending on each of these tiers and how much is covered at a table service meal varies. So while you can use your standard meal plan tier at pretty much any table service location, you may still have to pay for part of the meal if the monetary value is more than the standard meal plan provides. Only the premium tier includes character meals!

Guests can also upgrade to the Extra Plus tier for all resorts except Disneyland Hotel since they already have the premium tier. The extra plus tier includes character meals for either lunch or dinner and also includes a snack and a drink per night of your stay. This upgrade is only available for the full board meal plans and only one meal per day can be used for a character meal. It’s also important to note that for the standard tier full board plan, even if you have the extra plus added on, one of your lunch/dinner meals must be in a quick service location or you have to pay the difference.

Half Board Meal Plan

I stayed at Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel and went with the half board meal plan. That meant I was in the plus tier because of the resort level. I went with this plan because I knew I didn’t want to spend too much time sitting down for meals and I would have wanted to get the most out of each meal if I had paid for all three.

Having this meal plan definitely effected what I ate in Disneyland Paris. I was also on a budget and knew I wanted to be able to spend some of that on things other than food! This was perfect for me. I could get up early and have a great breakfast at the hotel and then I booked dinner reservations for each day I was in the parks. I feel like I ended up getting the absolute most out of my meal plan!

What I ate in Disneyland Paris, breakfast buffet

Hotel New York Breakfast Buffet

First of all, this resort is so amazing and even the placemats at the buffet tables were cool! And yes, I took a couple home. I know that is psychotic but I couldn’t help myself. The buffet really had anything and everything you could want for breakfast! There were pastries and giant croissants, they even had gluten free croissants. There were actually a decent amount of gluten free sweets and pastries. You could get fresh made pancakes, cereals of all kinds, fresh fruit and yogurt at one station. There were sweet breads and toast with all the spreads you could want at another station. You could even have an omelette made to your specifications by the chef right behind the buffet stations!

You had all the traditional options like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, crepes and waffles. And of course there were Lavazza machines where you could get coffee, espresso, cappuccino and hot chocolate. I do have to say that the coffee in Paris has ruined me! Haha! I am by no means a coffee connoisseur but what I make at home just does not compare to ANY that I had in Paris. In or out of the Disney bubble.

But I digress! I tried to put things on my breakfast plate that seemed unique to Disneyland Paris as well as things I knew I would like. You can’t skip the croissants so of course I had one of those with my bacon and eggs. All of it was delicious and very elevated for a hotel breakfast buffet.

My table at Walt's: An American Restaurant in Disneyland Paris

Walts Restaurant

I spent my first day in Disneyland Paris so I made a dinner reservation at Walt’s Restaurant. I feel like I really got lucky with this popping up because I did not make these reservations far in advance. Everything about this restaurant was fabulous! It is a tribute to Walt Disney in every way. The design and decor is the victorian style he loved and there are pictures of Walt Disney and his family all over the lobby downstairs. In the dining area, there are different sections and each one is themed to match a different land in the park. I was in the Discoveryland section and got to sit by the fireplace with a big porthole showing the Nautilus above it! So cool!

None of the theming was in your face here. Each themed section of the dining area had subtle nods and design notes to let you know what part of the park you were dining in. I could have spent so much time walking around looking at all the trinkets and art in here but I didn’t want to disturb people eating. All the windows in the dining areas overlooked Main Street and you really felt transported back in time!

The Menu

My half board plus meal plan covered the three course meal here which would typically be 55€. Three courses sounds like a lot and I was a little worried it would be too much food but the portion sizes were perfect! Everything is included except alcoholic beverages with the meal plan. The menu has options for starter, main courses and desserts that you choose and order all together. Your waiter or waitress then checks on you and paces the meal for you. I didn’t feel rushed or moved along at all, it was a nice leisurely meal!

The Floral Imagination Cocktail from Walt's Restaurant

Drinks

I, of course ordered a cocktail to go with my dinner! Walt’s Restaurant has three signature cocktails. The Floral Imagination made with gin and violet liqueur, the Chicage with cognac and the Disneyland Paris special edition champagne and the Il était une fols un Tonic with gin and labdanum cordial. The menu had pictures of each one and they all looks delicious and beautiful! I went with the Floral Imagination and loved it! It was refreshing, smooth and not too sweet! There was also a full menu of mocktails, beer and wine available.

What I ate in Disneyland Paris, the chicken pot pie at Walt's Restaurant

Starters

For the starters I had the following options:

  • Seasonal Cream Soup
  • Chicken Pot Pie
  • Romaine Lettuce Salad with tangy yogurt dressing and blue cheese cream
  • Cooked Red Cabbage with citrus fruits, cabbage broth and tofu emulsion

I went with the Chicken pot pie and it was so good! This was definitely chicken pot pie with a French twist. The pastry it was in was like a croissant instead of a puff pastry and the presentation was spectacular!

Chili con Carne at Walt's Restaurant

Main Courses

I thought it was very cool how the menu was very American and very much Walt’s favorites but also very French! At least to me it was. There were five main courses to choose from:

  • Chili con Carne that was served with the cutest little “can” of chili
  • Barbecued free-range chicken in a sweet glaze and served with mushrooms, polenta, baby vegetables and chicken gravy
  • Mac & Cheesewith smoked cheddar, pastrami and crispy onions
  • Pan-fried Sea Bass with rice risotto, beans and peas, braised red cabbage and apples and polenta crisps
  • Cabbage stuffed with shredded marinated pea-soy-sunflower protein, mashed potatoes, mushrooms and barbecue sauce

I did notice that the vegan options were all centered around cabbage so that must be a thing in Paris? I had the Chili con Carne and ate every bite! The flavors were so good and the little “can” of chili was perfect! Side note, we actually came across a recipe for Walt Disney’s favorite chili years ago and started making it at home and it really is the best chili in my opinion. This was very close to that recipe just with some extra herbs and spices that made it so unique and delicious.

Lemon Meringue Pie from Walt's Restaurant, what I ate in Disneyland Paris

Dessert

I am not typically a big sweets eater but who says no to dessert in Disneyland Paris! There were also five options for dessert on the Walt’s Restaurant menu:

  • Lemon Meringue Pie
  • Pineapple Upside-Down Cake with Vanilla-Infused Isigny Créme Fraiche
  • Flower Street Sundae
  • Chocolate Brownie, sweet potato, peanuts, hazelnuts, peanut butter cream, cookie ice cream and caramelized almonds
  • Caramelized Millefeuille with Praline Marscapone Cream

I had a hard time here because all of these sound perfectly wonderful! But I LOVE lemon meringue so I decided to go with that. I also thought that would be a good light dessert after I picked kind of heavy items for my starter and main course. It did not disappoint! So incredibly cute and so tasty! It was the perfect size too!

After dinner cappuccino at Walt's Restaurant in Disneyland Paris

After Meal Cappuccino

My waitress suggested a cappuccino after my meal and honestly, I just was not ready to leave the restaurant yet so I said yes! A lot of times I feel like I rush through meals and don’t just sit and enjoy so this felt very luxurious and I think I shall start doing it more! My cute little cup of cappuccino had the Walt’s Restaurant logo in it and came with a little cookie with the castle on it. So cute and a great finish to my meal here.

Table at Bistro Chez Remy in Disney Adventure World

Bistro Chez Remy

Want to know what I ate in Disneyland Paris on day two? Well here we go! On my second day I spent my time in Disney Adventure World. I got super lucky and nabbed an early dinner reservation at Bistro Chez Remy at the last minute! As you may have guessed this is the Ratatouille themed restaurant by the ride and where you can go to Paris in Disney in Paris! Haha! The theming in this restaurant is fantastic. Much more in your face than Walt’s but in the best way.

If you have watched Ratatouille or been on the ride then you have seen Remy’s restaurant at the end where the tables and chairs are made out of bottle caps and cocktail umbrellas. Well you are stepping right into that here! It is absolutely adorable and so well done. My table was towards the back of the restaurant and the windows look into the exit area of the ride. it was funny to watch people get off the ride and peer through the windows into the restaurant.

The Menu

To no one’s surprise this is a French restaurant designed to be like a Parisian bistro. I felt like the menu was adventurous without being too much if you had a basic eater. Just like Walt’s I could get a three course meal here with my Half Board plus tier plan. I had two options, the Remy menu that did not include dessert or the Emile menu that did include dessert. I always want to get the most out of my money so I went with the Emile menu. Without the meal plan this meal would be 55€.

Drinks

Bistro Chez Rémy had three signature cocktails. the Tonic Basilic with gin and elderflower, Cointreau Fizz with cointreau and Perrier and the French 77 with gin and the Disneyland Paris special edition champagne. I decided to go with a suggested white wine this time instead of a cocktail and it was delicious!

Seasonal Soup, what I ate in Disneyland Paris at bistro Chez Remy

Starters

The Emile menu had four options for my starter:

  • Mixed Salad with cheese, black olives, ham and vinaigrette
  • Seasonal Soup with Laughing Cow Cheese and mixed herbs
  • Pear, chestnut and Duck paté en croûte with fig marmalade
  • Green Lentil Salad with veggies and vinaigrette

I had the seasonal soup! It was a pea soup, so creamy and delicious. The soup came with some crusty baguette was served in the cutest little soup crock. It was the perfect starter for me and I would totally get this again.

Grilled steak filet at bistro Chez Remy, what I ate in Disneyland Paris

Main Courses

There were four options for the Emile menu main courses and then a special item that was on a table sign. While it was a French menu, I feel like it was just basic enough to not scare away the non-adventurous eaters:

  • Grilled Steak and French fries with your choice of sauce
  • Roast Cod with ratatouille and crushed potatoes with isigny AOP Beurre Blanc Sauce
  • Blanqueete of baby vegetables and minced soy and pea protein
  • Roast Chicken breast with Grenville potatoes and mushroom sauce

I decided to go with the special offering on the table and got the special steak filet with potatoes, side and choice of sauce. The sauces to choose from were Café de Paris, Green Peppercorn or Béarnaise sauce. Per my waiters recommendation I went with the Café de Paris sauce. It was buttery and rich and so so good! I also added ratatouille to my meal, because how do you eat here and not have that? Everything on this plate was wonderful! Perfectly salty, rich and buttery. Exactly what I wanted in French flavors!

Gusteau's Dessert, what I ate in Disneyland Paris at Bistro Chez Remy

Dessert

You may have seen the viral cheesecake from Bistro Chez Rémy that looks like a wedge of cheese and I did think about getting that. But I asked my waiter and he said it was not the best dessert on the menu, it was just cute. There are 6 dessert options on the Emile menu:

  • Brie de Meaux AOP, Quince and Mixed Fruit Loaf
  • Chocolate Mousse
  • Fruit Salad
  • Lemon Meringue Tart
  • Fromage Blanc-Raspberry Entremet
  • Gusteau’s Dessert

The Fromage Blanc is that viral little cheesecake. And while it is adorable I am so glad I went with my waiters recommendation and got the Gusteau’s Dessert! It is a flaky puff pastry with a creamy tart filling! It was also adorable, the presentation was perfection! So light, fluffy and delicious, it was the perfect dessert for this meal.

Sweet treat dessert at the Regal View Lounge

Snacks

We can’t talk about what I ate in Disneyland Paris without talking about snacks! I am not a big lunch eater, especially if I ate a large breakfast like I did these two days. My dinner reservations were also kind of early both days so I feel like a heavy lunch would have ruined my appetite for dinner. So I ended up just having some snacks both days instead of lunch. I had macrons from the cart in Fantasyland and from the the window on Main Street. How do you not?! I had popcorn in a super cute French Mickey popcorn bucket and I got a sweet treat from the Regal View Lounge! And of course I had a flute of Disneyland Paris champagne on Main Street! All of it was wonderful!

Regal View Lounge

Conclusion

There were so many snacks I wanted to eat and restaurants I wanted to try! But only being there for two days and staying within my budget only allowed so much. And honestly, I feel like I ate a lot and got really lucky on the dining reservations I scored. I was very impressed with all the food and drinks in Disneyland Paris. I would highly recommend everything I got and will be dreaming about the pot pie and that steak for a long time!

If you are able to get into either of these restaurants you absolutely should do it and with the half board or full board it is really a good deal in my opinion. I loved everything about both of my dining experiences and I hope you get to eat at these amazing places someday! I hope you enjoyed coming along to see what I ate in Disneyland Paris, I hope you have a magical day!
