There is so much summer fun in Disney World this year! From new attractions to Cool Kinds Summer and free water park days there is something for everyone. It can be hard to keep track of everything happening un Disney World this summer so let’s jump in and break it down!

Cool Kids Summer Fun in Disney World
This is such a super fun event! I believe this started last year and is such a great addition to summer in Disney World. Cool Kids Summer runs through September 8th and has extra fun throughout the parks and even the resorts. Here’s what you can expect for Cool Kids Summer:
- Jessie’s Roundup: You will find this rip roarin’ revue in Magic Kingdom at the Diamond Horseshoe! You can grab your meal and enjoy a Toy Story themed hoedown while you enjoy some AC. This looks so fun and it’s nice to see a show back in the Diamond Horseshoe.
- GoofyCore at EPCOT: This is in Communicore Hall over in EPCOT! I love that this area get transformed completely! Kids can party with Goofy and play with Goofy’s Game Machine. So much fun!
- Summer Activities at Resorts: At your resort you might find some characters hosting a party in the lobby or some fun Disney inspired crafts or even a pool party happening. There are even little libraries for kids at select resorts for when we need a break from the summer sun and the parks. Campfires and pajama parties complete with creating your own bedtime story makes me wish I was a kid too! Kids even receive a little gift bag with some fun things from Cool Kids Summer! Participating resorts are:
- Art of Animation
- Caribbean Beach
- Pop Century
- Port Orleans Riverside
- Special Food & Drinks: Throughout the parks there are special Cool Kids Summer. Space Ranger Floats in Magic Kingdom, Bluey Berry Lemonades in Animal Kingdom, Goof Troop Mac Snacks in EPCOT, and the cutest sipper cups!

V.I.Passholder Days
This is another fun addition to summer in Disney World! Like Cool Kids Summer but for the adults. V.I.Passholder Days offers special discounts on rooms, food and online shopping as well as some in park perks! Passholders can enjoy special character meet and greets, exclusive food, drinks and merchandise and even get their own lounge in EPCOT! That’s right, you can escape the summer heat in the Passholder Lounge in the Morocco Pavilion of EPCOT. There are free snacks and drinks and some beautiful AC to enjoy!

NEW This Summer in Disney World
There are so many things that have opened up or are coming soon for summer in Disney World! Soarin Across America and the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets just opened. You can read about those here! On top of that the new Walt Disney Studios courtyard has opened in Hollywood Studios as well. Themed to look like the Burbank studios lot, this brought the Sorcerer Hat back to Hollywood Studios! There will be the Magic of Disney Animation where Star Wars Launch Bay used to be, a new Disney Junior party, characters in the courtyard and even an animation experience with Olaf. This is such a cool addition to Hollywood Studios!
Over in Magic Kingdom the new Thunder Mountain has opened, Animal Kingdom has welcomed Bluey and friends to Conservation Station and Hollywood Studios has a new pilot on the Millennium Falcon! There is just so much happening ahead of these bigger openings that will start next year.

Free Water Park Days
There is nothing better than going to the pool on a hot Florida day, why not make it a Disney water park? This summer in Disney World resort guests get a free day at the water park on their check in day. I love this perk because the water parks may not be on your radar but it’s the perfect start to your Disney vacation! And who doesn’t love a free perk?

Conclusion
It’s a jam packed summer in Disney World this year! There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy and make it through these hot Florida days. Remember, it’s only June, we are still preheating here! You can find some ways to beat the heat while you’re on vacation here, you’re welcome! Even though it can get excruciatingly hot here, there is still so much to enjoy in the parks, some of it even includes AC.
I just love how much “extra” stuff Disney adds for when they know there will be so many people vacationing. Even if you stayed at your resort all day (highly recommend a day like this) you would never get bored. So what do you think? Does all of this make you want to brave the Florida heat to spend summer in Disney World? I hope you can come enjoy this summer and that you have the most magical day!
