Have you ever waited in line for a cookie longer than you did for any ride? Then you may have had a delicious Gideons Bakehouse Cookie! Gideon’s is located in Disney Springs in the Landing section and serves unique, half pound cookies with a gothic twist. You have to get in line to get a spot to come back later in the day and they are always worth the wait. But now, there is going to be a second Gideon’s location in Disney Springs called Six Ravens. But you won’t find their famous half pound cookies here, but something new and savory!
Gideons Bakehouse Beginnings
Gideon’s Bakehouse began at the East End Market in Orlando in 2016 and still has a location there today. You don’t have to wait in line for the cookies there and they have the same ones and are just as scrumptious! From there, Gideon’s had an item on Polite Pigs secret menu in Disney Springs that was wildly popular. In 2020, Gideon’s Bakehouse officially opened in their current location in Disney Springs and have stayed just as popular to this day. We got to hear from the founder of Gideon’s Bakehouse, Steve Lewis at a D23 event a while back. It was really cool to hear him talk about how he got into making these deliciously gigantic and gothic cookies. Now we will have a new Gideon’s location in Disney Springs to go along with these giant cookies!
Six Ravens Hand Pies
While we don’t have every detail just yet, we do know that this new Gideon’s location in Disney Springs will be located in the old Art of Shaving storefront near the existing Gideon’s Bakehouse location. Six Ravens will specialize in savory hand pies known as Coffyns which fits perfectly into the Gideon’s gothic flair. These hand pies will be made with fluffy yeast bread and fillings created by the Gideon’s kitchen staff as well as local, Central Florida chefs. The goal being to introduce Disney Springs guests to local flavors and provide a grab and go option. Six Ravens will also offer local draft beer, desserts and potatoes.
The specific local chefs they will collaborate with have not been announced just yet. But this area is full of amazing culinary talent of all kinds so this should be fun! No official opening date has been announced but work is underway on this storefront. They have said that the opening would be in late 2026 and the original Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs opened on December 20th so maybe an anniversary opening can be expected.
Conclusion
While I don’t always feel the need to wait in the long line for a Gideon’s cookie, I do think they are worth the wait. The vibe of the place is different and so cool. Plus they give out trading cards and who doesn’t love a good trading card? They do them monthly as well as special seasonal ones. I think this is going to be a really great option in Disney Springs for a good, grab and go option.
There is not a lot of that in the way of food food and not just a snack. And sometimes you don’t want a sit down restaurant meal while you’re shopping! I have no doubt that the quality and flavors at Six Ravens will be incredible. The style of this new Gideon’s location in Disney Springs will not disappoint either I’m sure.
