Merry Christmas ya filthy animals! Disney’s official fan club, D23 is on the road again celebrating the 35th anniversary of Home Alone. This is an interactive screening of the movie with fun pre-show activities and great extras! These are only open to D23 Members and there are still some opportunities to join in on the Home Alone fun this holiday season!

D23 Home Alone On The Road
This is only the second D23 On The Road event series that has happened. The first was the Goofy Movie anniversary screening last summer. These events are so much fun! We got an activation kit to go along with the movie, had some fun photo ops, games and activities before the movie started and there are so many crazy things that happen while the movie is playing. I think my favorite thing was every time the lawn jockey got knocked over in the movie the host ran out with a big inflatable lawn jockey and threw it across the stage! Hahaha!

Home Alone Activation Bag
Each guest received a Christmas D23 bag filled with fun stuff to use during the movie. There was a fold out map with Kevin’s full battle plan that came with D23 crayons and has some other fun games too. Also inside was a light up bracelet that went off with different things during the movie. Every time Kevin shot the BB gun it flashed red and every time the iconic song played they all lit up like it was snowing in the theater.

The kits also included an event exclusive 35th anniversary pin and a kazoo! I am sure you’re curious what the kazoo could be for? Well it just so happens it goes really well with polka music. Haha! We also used them for a fun activity during the pre-show. Full disclosure here, I most definitely hid the kazoo’s from my 10 year old when we left.

D23 Home Alone Pre-Show
For the hour leading up to the movie the D23 on the road host entertained the crowd! There were random people and families selected to play a few games. There was a suitcase packing game and a snowball throwing game that were pretty hilarious to watch. Then they invited all the kids to bring their kazoo’s on stage to play Deck the Halls. Thatcher had been waiting for this moment! Haha! We went up and they did a video of all of us and the crowd playing Deck the Halls on our kazoos. Then the parents stepped off and the kids did their best impressions of Kevin’s after shave scream. Everyone got a Home Alone with D23 candy cane on the way back to their seats. This was such a fun way to get everyone involved in the pre-show!

Home Alone Photo Ops
As usual, D23 was killing the photo op game! There was a big D23 On The Road with Home Alone backdrop with props to hold. And even a step in photo op that looked like you were in Kevin’s bathroom looking in the mirror. So fun! I wonder what they do with all this stuff when these events are over?

Home Alone With D23 Showtime!
D23 does such a great job making this so much more than a movie screening. The audience was encouraged to say every “KEVIN!”, every “Merry Christmas ya filthy animal”, do the Kevin scream, play the kazoo’s with the Kenosha Kickers and wave your arms around at different parts of the movie. Not to mention that the host came out with different props like the lawn jockey and inflatable paint cans during the movie. The inflatable lawn jockey really was hilarious, I would love to have that in my yard for a Christmas decoration! Hahaha! This is so much more fun than just watching the movie, you never know what they will do next and makes it exciting.

Conclusion
We had a blast at this event! Originally we were going to wear 90’s Christmas sweaters but Florida decided winter was over and it was going to be 80 degrees. So instead we all had a shirt with a quote or something from the movie. I feel like we all ended up with a shirt that matched our personality pretty well. Hubby had Merry Christmas ya filthy animal, Sawyer had a Little Nero’s Pizza sweatshirt, Thatcher had a lovely cheese pizza just for me and I went with eating junk and watching rubbish! It’s so cool to be able to take our kids to movies we saw in the theater as kids. Proof once again that growing up in the 90’s was the best! Haha! I highly recommend these D23 On The Road events. Sawyer and I went to the Goofy Movie one too and it was just as much fun. I hope this made you feel like you were there too and if you can, grab a ticket to one of the remaining cities of Home Alone with D23! Have a magical day ya filthy animals!
