August is here and that means so is Halloween in Disney World! The Mickey pumpkin wreaths are up, the not so scary spooks are materializing and there are new popcorn buckets ready to follow you home. This is my favorite time of year in the parks. Kind of an unofficial start to all the holiday festivities that will be in the parks the rest of the year. So what can you expect if you are in Disney World now through October 31st? Let’s find out!

Decorations
Unlike Christmas, Halloween in Disney World is really limited to Magic Kingdom. You are not going to see every park celebrating. But Magic Kingdom is decorated enough for everybody! Mickey Pumpkin wreaths hang on the light posts down Main Street USA and the in the hub. You may even see some of the new ones that feature Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh! Keep your eyes up on the buildings On Main Street too. There are carved pumpkins of all shapes and sizes with funny faces on all the buildings. And on your way out the carved pumpkin at the exit say “see ya real soon”. Fall leaves are on the buildings, Mickey and Minnie pumpkins out front, it’s just so pretty!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
On select nights from August 7th to October 31st Mickey hosts his not so scary Halloween party in Magic Kingdom. This is a staple of Halloween in Disney World! The Headless Horseman rides through the park to start the Boo to You parade, characters are in their Halloween costumes, it’s a don’t miss if you are going to be here this time of year. You get lots of special offerings like the parade, the Sanderson Sisters stage show, Jack Skellington hosting a fireworks show, trick or treat trails and so much more!

On the dates a party is happening Magic Kingdom will close early at 7pm. So make sure you plan accordingly if you are not going to the party. If you are you can get into the park at 4pm with your party ticket and wait times will be low once the party starts. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is from 7pm-12am with access to the park starting at 4pm and this years dates are:
- August 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30
- September 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27, 29
- October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31
The first three nights, two in September and a few in October including Halloween are already sold out but there are lots of other dates to choose from! You can get your tickets here!

Spooky Food & Merch
No Halloween in Disney World would be complete without some specialty food and merchandise! Throughout Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs you will find all kinds of treats and eats as well as spooky merch to take home. Some of my favorites are the Hatbox Ghost push pops at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments and the new popcorn buckets for this year! There is a Hatbox Ghost AND a Headless Horseman popcorn bucket. I must have them both!

Jock Lindsay’s Halloween Hangar Bar
This is probably one of my MOST favorite things about Halloween in Disney World. Last year or maybe two years ago, Jock Lindsay’s in Disney Springs started doing a Halloween overlay! With kitschy, vintage decorations and special food and drinks this is an experience! There are new items on the menu this year and I cannot wait to go try them all. The food is served in the most extra Halloween ways and if I could put the serving dishes in my bag and take them home, I totally would!! You can see the full menu for this year here and trust me, you do not want to skip this!

Conclusion
Halloween in Disney World is definitely my favorite! I know some people like the really scary, gory side of Halloween. But I’ll take Mickey pumpkins and the Headless Horseman! Florida may not feel like fall for a while yet but it will look very fall in Magic Kingdom next time I go and that makes me so happy. Halloween starts things off and there is just a little something extra for the rest of the year. If you are going to be in Disney World between now and the end of October, make sure you try all the Halloween things. Especially Jock Lindsay’s in Disney Springs! Thanks for reading along today and have a magically spooky day!
