Geo-82 Review

If you love Spaceship Earth then you need to make sure you visit Geo-82! This is the new lounge that just opened in EPCOT on the back side of Spaceship Earth. Geo-82 is a lounge for ages 21+ with a small plates menu as well as an extensive wine, beer and cocktail menu. We finally got to go last week and I could not wait to share my Geo-82 review!

Geo-82 Ambience

I dare say that this is one of the most beautiful lounges in Walt Disney World. The entrance is kind of hidden and if you didn’t know where it was or what it was you would walk right past. You have to take an elevator up to the check in and are given a tranquility towel. This is a warm, moist towel with essential oils and you guys, it smelled incredible! Definitely made me feel very tranquil! Haha!

The waiting area is gorgeous! There is artwork on the walls depicting different parts of EPCOT, low lighting, very comfy seating with a retro vibe. The entrance tunnel to the lounge is so cool and the floor going through there has the lights in it like the old entrance to EPCOT used to have. I honestly love that throwback so much!

The lounge itself is very upscale with beautiful lighting and very chic, retro feel. But the real star of this show is the view! The solid wall of windows looking out over EPCOT all the way across World Showcase is breathtaking. I can’t wait to go back at night and be able to see the fireworks view.

Geo-82 Menu

We went to Geo-82 for lunch, there are only 5 items on the food menu since this is a lounge. You can choose from:

  • Chef’s Selection Charcuterie Board
  • Cannellini Hummus
  • Funghi Flatbread
  • Truffled Ahi Tuna
  • Jumbo Lumo Crab Gateau

We got the Funghi Flatbread and it was DELICIOUS!! The flavors were so well balanced and strong. It’s the perfect size to share and have a small lunch. If you like mushrooms you will love this flatbread, if not, maybe not so much!

I couldn’t write a Geo-82 review without getting cocktails! Jay had the Brown Butter Old Fashioned and I had the Electron. I love that menu explains what type of glass and style each cocktail is along with the description of the ingredients. The Brown Butter Old Fashioned was incredible! It comes with a Spaceship Earth ice cube and the flavors are to die for. I honestly want to make this at home, it lives in my dreams! The Electron was also good, mezcal, carrot, cinnamon, lime, orange bitters and pink peppercorn. It was very good! The Electron was sweet but also savory to me, the flavors were really well balanced and for someone who doesn’t always super sweet drinks, it was delicious! And very photogenic! You can see the full drink menu here!

No Geo-82 review would be complete if we didn’t talk about how much we spent. This is a pretty upscale Disney lounge so you know it’s not cheap! BUT, I will say that it was not as expensive as I thought it would be. The Funghi Flatbread was $15 and while small, a great size for lunch. My husbands Brown Butter Old Fashioned was $28 and worth every penny! Hahaha! The Electron was $23 and a good size. Now, would those drinks be that much money off Disney property? Most likely not but they also wouldn’t come with a view of EPCOT that you can’t get anywhere else.

Conclusion

Ultimately, my Geo-82 review is that it’s fantastic and you should definitely try to get a reservation! I know there has been some controversy over it being a 21+ lounge but hear me out. There are very few places in Walt Disney World that are not kid friendly. I don’t think there is anything wrong with having a space or two that are just for the big kids. This lounge is not huge, if every party in there had kids with them it would be even less reservations available. Not to mention that I can’t imagine most kids would be interested in going. The menu is not a kid friendly menu and it’s a bar, no restaurant attached. So I don’t think the kids are missing anything they would really be excited about.

I do think Walt would have loved this lounge. I felt like I could picture him there sitting at the bar or one of the table by the windows looking out over EPCOT. There was even a hidden Mickey in the lights above the bar! Even though it is new, it felt very nostalgic in a way. We will absolutely go back and hopefully for a fireworks view next time. Thank you all for reading along this week and have the most magical day!
