We have arrived in California for our Disneyland Adventure and to go to D23: The Ultimate Fan Event! Yes, my kids went to the first day of school and will now be missing the next five days. Haha! We checked into Pixar Place yesterday and have already had some park time. It’s going to be a jam packed next few days so stay tuned for all the updates and announcements!

California Bound
Our Disneyland adventure started bright an dearly with an 8am flight from Orlando to Los Angeles. With the time change, we landed in LA around 10:30am so we had the whole day to play in the parks! We had the hardest time figuring out how to to get to the area where our Lyft picked us up. It was definitely not the same as it was two years ago. With a lot of walking and circling we finally found it and were on the road. It is about a 40 minute ride from LAX to Disneyland. While we were on the way we got the text that our room was ready and we could use our digital key to get in when we got there!

Pixar Place
We did digital check in so we were all set when we arrived at Pixar Place. This resort is so cute and has so many fun touches! The lobby has a giant Pixar ball with the Pixar lamp on top. Above that are the prettiest stained glass, almost sun catcher looking Pixar character decorations. You will find Wall-e, Monsters, Inc, Toy Story and more! Our room is on the 12th floor with a premium view that did not disappoint. We have the best view of Disney’s California Adventure, complete with a window view of World of Color every night! The room is absolutely adorable and even has a 5th sleeper sofa.

So far we have hit up the Sketch Book Cafe for some quick service / grab and go breakfast and snack options. We have brunch reservations at the Great Maple on Monday so stay tuned for that! Sketch Book has been great so far and a quick easy way to get started during our Disneyland adventure.

The parks are a short walk from the hotel which is really nice. Just a quick walk out the back door and across the street puts you right into Downtown Disney which then leads to both Disneyland and California Adventure. We can even hop on the monorail just inside Downtown Disney and take it to the parks to avoid a little walking. It’s all so close and convenient! Last year we stayed in the Grand Californian and that was gorgeous and even more convenient. But, honestly I am really loving Pixar Place!

Disneyland Day 1
We hit the ground running once we dropped our stuff off at the room. We headed right into California Adventure and started our Disneyland Adventure with a ride on Web Slingers in Avengers Campus! After a few more rides we had a dinner reservation at Lamplight Lounge on Pixar Pier and we had the best view from our table. The food was amazing and so were the drinks. Full review to come! We were all pretty tired after dinner and decided to go back to the room so we were rested for day two! But then I did stay up to watch World of Color from our window, so cool!

D23 Day in Disneyland
Today is D23 Day in Disneyland and we started the day very early in the park! There was D23 Day merchandise this year but of course that sold out by 12:30 today. The nice thing was that everyone was in line for merchandise so the wait times were super low all morning. I had planned to buy Lightning Lan today but ended up not doing it because the waits were so short.
We were really hoping the Haunted Mansion would make a surprise reopening today like it did last year but no luck. Maybe Monday! Here’s hoping. In just a few hours we knocked out Indiana Jones, Pirates, getting beignets, Smuggler Run with the Grogu mode unlocked and more! We saw the Disney Legends Cavalcade go by while were eating lunch at Carnation Cafe and celebrating the little mans birthday and now we are taking a little break at the hotel. Back at it after everyone gets a little rest in!

Conclusion
It has been a great start to our Disneyland adventure! We are not only here for D23 but also celebrating little mans birthday that is TODAY! He has already had so many fun character interactions and birthday treats. Disney knows how to spoil a kid on his birthday for sure! When we arrived they had made a birthday cake on the bed with the towels and left him a bunch of treats on the bed. So special! Currently we are at the pool while he cannonballs and water slides.

This week and weekend will come with lots of extra blog posts. Each day of D23: the Ultimate Fan Event I will post a recap of the day and all the announcements from the larger panels at the Honda Center. So stay tuned here and on socials for all the updates and announcements! This is a bit of a different blog as it’s just the beginning of the fun this week. Full reviews of all the fun are coming. Well I think I’ll go do a cannonball too, have a magical day!
