Avatar Fire & Ash Screening

AMC Theater at Disney Springs for Avatar Fire and Ash screening

D23 hosted an Avatar Fire & Ash screening for Gold Members ahead of the movie’s release and it was great! The movie is fantastic and D23 always makes these screenings a little extra fun. Sometimes these are only held here in Disney World or in California. But D23 has started having them throughout the US, so if you are a Gold Member make sure you are checking the event page. The movie screenings are some of my favorite events, so I can’t wait to share this one with you!

Avatar Fire & Ash Screening Tickets

One of the things I love most about these pre-screen movie events is the price! Tickets to the Avatar Fire and Ash screening were only $15 and included popcorn and a drink for each person. You honestly can’t beat that. This one in particular was in the Dolby 3D theater at 7pm so a regular ticket alone would have been $22. Then adding popcorn and a drink would have been an additional $10-$15 per person. You can get tickets to these events on the D23 website or in the D23 app. Gold Members were allowed to purchase a ticket for themselves and one guest.

Avatar Fire and Ash screening included popcorn, a drink and an Avatar drawstring bag.

Checking In & Extras

The check in for the Avatar Fire and Ice Screening was quick and easy just like the others. You line up to go into the theater between EverGlazed and Splitsville and enter through a back entrance. Cast Members scan your QR code for your tickets and all guests over 18 must show a photo ID to match the name on the ticket. Once you are checked in someone gives you a voucher for your popcorn and drink. When it was time to go in there was a Cast Member who handed us all Avatar drawstring bags which was a nice surprise! Another surprise was when they let us know to grab the 3D glasses for the Dolby 3D theater, usually these are just in the regular theaters.

The screening was in the Dolby 3D theater so 3D glasses activated!

How Was Avatar Fire & Ash?

The movie was GREAT! I dare say it was my favorite of all the Avatar movies so far. Thatcher said he thinks it’s the best movie he has ever seen. He’s 10 so take that with a grain of salt but still. But it is definitely worth going to see in the theaters. The Dolby 3D was incredible, I had never watched a movie on one of these screens before. I am glad this movie was my first one because it was breathtaking!

The story is beautiful too. I am not a huge Avatar fan but this one was really special. Lots of character development and fleshing out their stories and the story of the Sully family. I won’t give any spoilers but I had tears at least three times during this movie. It was very touching and very relatable on a lot of levels. We see the introduction of a new Navii tribe but this time they are not friendly. That’s a shift for these movies and this new tribe of baddies are very dynamic and colorful. A great edition to this franchise!

D23 always has great signage for all these events!

Conclusion

We have been to quite a few of these pre-screenings but I think the Avatar Fire and Ash screening has been the best one yet. Getting to see this movie on the Dolby 3D screen was incredible! It was like riding Flight of Passage the whole time, haha! I believe D23 started doing these in 2023 when Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes came out. At least that was the first one we went to or heard of. That one did. include dinner and drinks which I wish they would do again, but I love these pre-screens. We honestly wouldn’t go to the movies to see a lot of the things we end uo seeing in theaters without them. Simply because it is so expensive for a family of four to go to the movies.

We try to go every time one pops up unless it’s just a movie we don’t want to see which is rare. If you see that they are doing one of these near you or you are in Florida while one is happening, I highly recommend getting the tickets and going. And bonus, sometimes they are free! The free ones don’t usually include the popcorn and drink but seeing the movie for free is great! If you are looking for a movie to go see over the holidays, Avatar Fire and Ash comes out tumors, December 19th and is rated PG-13. Merry Christmas everybody and have a magical day!
