If you saw my social media posts last weekend you were probably wondering what Dapper Day is! Well, I’m here to tell you all about it! We went to our first Dapper Day in Hollywood Studios last Saturday and we had the best time. Dapper Day is really just a fun day where people dress up in their fancy, dapper best and visit the designated Disney park. Everyone wishes each other a happy Dapper Day and compliments everyone’s outfits. Of course there are other things to know so let’s dive into it!

History of Dapper Day
Dapper Day was started by designer Justin J. in 2011 as a way to honor the timeless fashion of the past. So now every Spring and Fall the Dapper Day organization hosts events in Disneyland, Disney World and Disneyland Paris. These events were created to invite people to “step out in style” and be dressed to the nines for a fun day at the parks. There is no style requirement but most go with the vintage 50’s and 60’s look and some go with the 20’s look. The cool thing is that in Disney a lot of people take whatever era they choose and turn it into a Disney bound! There are group photos that are officially taken with all the people dressed up that day, you can find the times for these on the Dapper Day event page.

Disney Bounding on Dapper Day
What does Disney bounding mean? Well it simply means that you take your look and turn it into a Disney character. For instance, Jay and I did a Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip bound with our 50’s style outfits! My friend Beccy did the cutest Miss Piggy, Pigs in Space bound and found some other Muppets bounds throughout the day.

We saw a friend with a Toy Story bound, a couple of ladies with 1920’s Loki bounds and so many other great character or themed outfits. A lot of people went with a festive Christmas look which totally matched all the beautiful decorations in Hollywood Studios.

Conclusion
We truly loved our first experience at Dapper Day. I honestly loved seeing everyone all dressed up and it really made everyone interact with one another. I wish people still dressed like this on a regular basis, just so classy and pretty. If you are here during a Dapper Day meet up I highly recommend participating. Grab your favorite vintage dress, make your hubby dress fancy and go make some new friends! If you want to find out about Dapper Day events or see some of the fun from past events you can find all of that here.
Thank you so much for reading along today and making Thursdays the best days! I hope you have the most magical day!
