This weeks post is a little different. I just wanted to share a little of our first New Years Eve in our new house in Disney’s backyard. We stayed in and made way too much food. But the most magical thing came at midnight and I was not expecting it!

New Years Eve Festivities
For the past three years we have gone out. The first year we lived here we were gifted two tickets to EPCOT for NYE which was incredible! You will have to go read that one, we thought we were going to get to go into Club 33! The next year I won tickets to the Yacht Rock concert at House of Blues in Disney Springs. Then last year we just went and made a night of it in Disney Springs with the kids. But this year we decided to just keep it chill and stay in our nice new house. The boys wanted apps and finger foods so I basically bought all of them and made all the things….spoiler it’s what’s for lunch today too! Haha!

We hunkered down, ate all the food, Thatcher ran around the neighborhood as well as in and out of the house with friends until it got dark. Then we grabbed our blankies and settled onto the couch to watch the final episode of Stranger Things. I have only watched the show sporadically but I even cried a few times. Then we ate more food and had some cocktails and cocktails and waited for midnight. Of course we pulled up a live stream of NYE in Magic Kingdom to watch and do the countdown with! We had our party hats and noise makers ready and when the clock struck 12 we made all the noise and thought about going upstairs to watch the fireworks out of our bedroom window.

New Years Eve Surprise!
We can always watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our bedroom window just over the house across the street. But we got a surprise last night! As Thatcher went outside to make noise on the porch we realized the fireworks were way higher than normal. We could see them right from the front porch! It was such a magical little surprise ending to the evening and one I will not forget.

Conclusion
I know I shared out buying a house journey a few weeks ago, but it has been a long road for us. This house is such a sweet blessing and little things like seeing the fireworks just reminds me how blessed we truly are. Spending our first New Years Eve here in Disney’s backyard was more than we could have hoped for. Thatcher has found a little pack of friends in the new neighborhood. It makes my heart so happy to have them just running in and out of the house and playing in the neighborhood. I am excited for all that is to come living here and so glad to be able to share it with you. Thank you for reading and please share if you enjoy the blog, I have high hopes for the blog in 2026! I hope you all have the most magical year in 2026!!
