This week Disney released more Geo-82 in EPCOT announcements! Opening dates, reservation dates, menus and more were released. I am personally really excited for this new addition to Spaceship Earth and cannot wait to go! But there are some pretty significant details to note on this one, some know before you go if you will. Let’s break it all down and see what we can expect at Geo-82!

What’s In A Name?
You may be wondering why it is going to be called Geo-82? Well, there are two references here. The Geo is referring to Spaceship Earth’s geometric design, and this is after all the Spaceship Earth lounge! And the 82 is referring to EPCOT’s opening year of 1982. I love when Disney throws things back like this, Steakhouse 71 in the Contemporary Resort is similar in its reference to the Magic Kingdom and resorts opening in 1971. All the concept art looks like this is going to have lots of decor and design to compliment Spaceship Earth’s geometric design. Disney says “you’ll be immersed in the storied history and enduring legacy of this timeless EPCOT icon”.

What to Expect
From the looks of things and how Disney is describing Geo-82, this is going to be a more elevated, slightly upscale experience. Reservations are going to be required and I am sure there will be no walk ups here for quite some time, if ever. This lounge is also going to be only for guests 21 and older. There are not a lot of places in Disney World with this restriction so it is an important one to note. You will find this lounge on the side of Spaceship Earth over looking World Celebration and The Walt Disney statue. no doubt it is going to have a spectacular view of the park!

Opening Date & Reservations
Geo-82 in EPCOT announcements this week said that the lounge will be opening on June 4th! Reservations for Geo-82 will open on May 6th and can be made in your My Disney Experience app or here. Reservations will go fast, I have no doubt!

Eats & Drinks announced for Geo-82 in EPCOT
Drink Menu
Geo-82 will have specialty cocktails, world class wines and spirits and an assortment of beers. The drink menu sounds incredible and I would like to try ALL of them:

Food Menu
For the Geo-82 in EPCOT announcements regarding food, Disney says there will be “blissful bites with global influences”. All the food will be small bites that pair with the cocktail menu. Very fancy and I have no doubt will be presented beautifully:
- Cannellini Hummus: Pumpkin seed pistou, heirloom radish, preserved lemon, Fresno peppers and pappadam
- Chef’s Selection: Artisanal cheeses, cured meats and accompaniments
- Funghi Flatbread: Roasted mushrooms, miso mascarpone, mozzarella, fontina, pickled red onion and black garlic molasses
- Jumbo Lump Crab Gateau: Smoked cheddar, pickled mustard seed-lemon vinaigrette and Siberian Supreme caviar
- Truffled Ahi Tuna: Japanese whiskey barrel aged soy-truffle ponzu, citrus, scallion, tobiko and black sesame seeds

Merchandise at Geo-82
What in Disney would be complete without merchandise?! Were you even there if you didn’t bring something home that proves it?! Geo-82 will be no different. There will be Geo-82 souvenir glasses available for mobil order for guests with a reservation. Interesting that these will not be offered to guests who could not get into the lounge, I wonder if that will change after it is open. There is a wine glass and a rocks glass and they are stunning! The geometric glasswork on the bottom that looks like Spaceship Earth did it for me! I do not force them having problem getting rid of these beauties!

Fireworks Experience at Geo-82 in EPCOT
Also included in the Geo-82 in EPCOT announcements is a new Fireworks Experience in the lounge! Disney has stated that the fireworks view will be different and amazing in Geo-82. Every party will have a private table at the windows to view the fireworks and will get to enjoy “light bites and shimmering sips” as well. Guests can will check in an hour before Luminous: The Symphony of Us starts. They will enjoy specially selected champagne or event-exclusive cocktails along with a tasting tower of savory light bites before the fireworks begin. During the show there will be a selection of sweets provided to each table.
This experience is also 21 and older, just like the lounge and advanced reservations are required and very limited. The Fireworks Experience is $179 per person plus tax and gratuity. Very pricey but could be a really cool experience if the food and drinks are good. Plus, for adults there without kids it’s a great way to enjoy the fireworks in a more relaxed environment. For those that will say it should include kids, keep in mind there are other fireworks dining packages in the park that are for families with kids of all ages. But I will say, this is like paying for a Christmas or Halloween party ticket for just food and drinks and nice view. Like I said, could be really worth it but I guess we won’t know until we see how it goes!

Conclusion
I am genuinely excited for Geo-82. It looks like it will have a great vibe and the food and drinks sound like they will be amazing! I do think it’s nice to have one or two areas just for adults, only because there are so many things for families and kids. It is nice to have the option of an upscale, elevated experience that is 21 and older in the park. I am curious how many people I know will want to pay the $179 per person for the fireworks experience. I know there are plenty of people out there that will pay it, just curious what that demographic will end up being. Would you pay that for the experience? Either way, I will be on my app on the morning of May 6th to try and snag one of the first reservations at Geo-82! If you are wanting to get a reservation, I hope you get one too and have a magical day!
