Flower & Garden Festival Garden Graze

Flower & Garden Festival in EPCOT is my all time favorite festival and one of the reasons why is the food! The Garden Graze is the little challenge in the back of the festival passport that you can complete by eating 5 items off the list and then you get a completer treat in a souvenir cup! What I love most about the Garden Graze is that all the items are plant based! Today we are going to talk about all the items on the Garden Graze menu with a focus on what I ate and my thoughts on each of them. Let’s do this!

Garden Graze Menu

There are 11 items on the Garden Graze menu to chose from. You only need 5 stamps to complete the Garden Graze. You get the stamps when you order an item off the menu at the register. So here are your choices:

  • Avocado Toast with marinated toybox tomatoes on toasted chibatta from BRUNCHCOT
  • Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with savory garlic spread and spicy corn chips from Florida Fresh
  • Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with savory garlic spread and plant based cotija cheese from Florida Fresh
  • Pineapple Skewer with Tajin seasoning from the Refreshment Outpost
  • Potato Pancakes with house made apple sauce from Bauernmarket: Farmers Market
  • Hummus Trio traditional hummus, red beet and black garlic hummus with Moroccan bread and crispy papadam from Tangerine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina
  • Coconut Tres Leches vanilla cake soaked in oat milk, almond milk and coconut milk with toasted coconut from La Isla Fresca
  • Boneless IMPOSSIBLE Korean Short Rib with cilantro lime rice, Danmuji slaw and kimchee mayonnaise from Trowel and Trellis
  • IMPOSSIBLE Lumpia with Thai sweet chili sauce from Trowel and Trellis
  • Chocolate Cake with black currant ganache, mixed berry compote and chocolate ice cream from Trowel and Trellis
  • Cookies ‘n’ Cream Chocolate Mousse Cup from the Land Cart

What I Got

I honestly wish I had been able to try all of these but there just was not enough time, Flower and Garden festival should go through August in my humble opinion! Hahaha! But what I did have was amazing!

Side note here, we do eat mostly plant based in my house so most of this was not weird or foreign to me. But if you are not familiar with plant based foods I still think you would enjoy everything that I had, and you probably wouldn’t even realize it was plant based. Here are the things I got off the Garden Graze this year:

Impossible Lumpia $5.50

I’ll be honest here, I don’t know that I have ever had Lumpia before this so I can’t compare it to a traditional Lumpia. But I really enjoyed this! The Thai Sweet Chili Sauce wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet or spicy, it was really balanced and the filling was really good too. You get 5 rolls with this so it’s a great small meal or snack.

Chocolate Cake $5.00

This was a big hit for my whole family! We actually ended up getting three of these. The cake was super moist and rich, the black currant ganache was really tasty, the mixed berry compote tasted really fresh and you can’t go wrong with chocolate ice cream! I don’t think you would realize this was a plant based dish if you don’t know before eating it. All the flavors went really well together and even my picky son who doesn’t like any sauces ate everything together and loved it!

Avocado Toast $6

This avocado toast was so pretty you almost didn’t want to eat it, but I did! It was very good but lacked a little in the flavor department for me. I like so seasoning on my avocado toast. Now this didn’t stop me from getting it twice though! Both times I had this it tasted very fresh, I would have liked more of a toast on the ciabatta but it was tasty!

Potato Pancakes with Applesauce $5.00

I am not much for mixing sweet and savory together but I didn’t hate the combo completely. In all honesty I ate most of the potato pancake and applesauce separately and just did a little bit mixed together. The potato pancake was good and just tasted like a has brown, the applesauce stole the show though! I was so fresh and had a good balance of sweet and acidic. Kids were not fans of this one but hey, more for me!

Coconut Tres Leches

I love this one!! I got it last year and was happy to see it was back! Obviously the cake is super moist but not soggy and the flavors were awesome. My kids devoured this one and the picky one doesn’t think he likes coconut! Haha! Once we got him to try a bite he finished it and licked the little cup. Plus he was excited they had plant based whip cream on it! Just like the Lumpia, I have never had traditional Tres Leches so I can’t compare it to that for you but it was very good.

Completer Treat $FREE

Once you have collected 5 stamps in your festival passport you can take it to the Pineapple Promenade booth to get your prize! And surprise…you get two! The actual treat is a Mango Lime Dole Whip and it was delicious. I love Dole Whip and this is a flavor you can’t anywhere else. Now I have heard mixed things on what the flavor you get is, some people say they just got pineapple Dole Whip, some say they just got Lime. but when I asked for clarification the night I got mine I was told it was Mango Lime. So I’m not sure if they changed it periodically or what but it didn’t disappoint!

Like all Dole Whip flavors it was refreshing and hit the spot on a hot Florida night right before watching EPCOT Forever! It came in the cutest souvenir cup AND you got a packet of wildflower seeds to take home and plant in your own garden!

Conclusion

So that’s what I had to complete my Garden Graze at this years Flower and Garden Festival. I really do love that this one is plant based. The Food and Wine Festival one is always centered around cheese so we won’t be doing that one…..dairy is not a friend at our house! I encourage you to try some of these plant based items next year at Flower and Garden Festival even if you have never touched any plant based foods, I bet you won’t even notice a difference.

If you’ve read any of my earlier blogs you know that my oldest son has Crohn’s disease. That is why we started eating mostly plant based and it makes a world of difference for his health and honestly ours too. But it’s hard when you’re a kid and want to have treats in the parks like everyone else. Disney always does a great job with having options in all the parks BUT it’s really cool when there is a whole menu of special stuff you can have so thank you Disney!

As always, thank you for being here and reading along. I hope you enjoyed this weeks post and will try some of these items at next years festival! Have a magical day!
