Celebrating My Birthday In Disney!

Yesterday was my 41st birthday and my first birthday living in Disney!  It was a very magical day full of some extra pixie dust and good friends.  Today I am taking you along on a recap of my day, lets go!

Getting My Birthday Button

If you are ever in Disney while celebrating ANYTHING you always get a button!!  We stopped at the Moana Mercantile inside the Polynesian resort and asked the cast members at the register for a birthday button.  They will write your name on it and then you wear it everywhere you go!  Cast Members and other guests will wish you a Happy Birthday all day long and you may even get some extra magic!

After getting the button, we hopped on the monorail and headed to Magic Kingdom for the day!

Rides & Treats

It was just Jay and I at the park during the day since the boys were busy being at school!  Sidenote: This is still the funniest thing, when they ask what I did today and get mad that I was at the park without them!  Hahaha!  We started in Adventureland like we usually do and took a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean and had some spring rolls.  Next we hopped over to the Haunted Mansion and got some funny photo pass pictures after riding my favorite ride.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous here yesterday too!  I thank God for that birthday gift!  The sun was shining and there was a great breeze all day. All the cast members were so sweet telling me Happy birthday all morning, some even singing to me.  I met a couple of birthday twins and of course visited my favorite little Orange Bird!  They have a special Dole Whip right now at Sunshine Tree Terrace called the I Lava you Float.  It was so good!  Orange Dole Whip, Strawberry Fanta, Passion Fruit and Pop Rocks, which I didn’t remember being so strange in my mouth!  Haha!

A Little Extra Magic

So Jay has this love affair with the Walts edition Foot Long Hot Dog at Casey’s Corner so we had to make a stop there for him to get some lunch.  When we were leaving a Cast Member was coming out with a Baseball Brownie and handed it to me with a Happy Birthday.  It’s not something I ever would have ordered but it was a cool moment and a tasty treat.  This is why you always wear the button people!

It was a great day in the Magic Kingdom doing some of my favorite things!  And there was more celebrating to be done but we had to get the munchkins first!

It’s Party Time

After homework we headed over to Disney Springs to celebrate with friends at The Edison.  Disney Springs at night is my favorite! There are bands playing all over the place, singers in the bars and restaurants and just a fun family atmosphere.  We went a little early and stopped to listen to the band playing by the Boathouse.  Thatcher loves this too and he danced his heart out for a good half hour before we headed to dinner.

Jay made these reservations and invited some friends and it was a great end to my birthday!  The Edison is such a cool themed restaurant and has one of my favorite drinks, the Samantha Sterling!  If you know anything about the history of where this restaurant is, you know it used to be the Adventurers Club and Samantha Sterling was one of the Adventurers you would find there.  I love the Edison, but I for sure would take the Adventurers Club back any day if given the chance.

The jazz singer and band were awesome last night and our table was right down by the stage!  I shared a video to my story on social media if you want to check it out!  Thatcher even went up and told them it was my birthday and they wished me a happy birthday, slightly embarrassing but fun and he was super proud of himself.  Haha!

It was nice to just hang out with friends and have some food and drinks while listening to some music.  It was the perfect end to my 41st birthday!

Conclusion

So long story short, my first time celebrating my birthday in Disney was nothing short of magical!  I had a wonderful day doing some of my favorite things with some of my favorite people.  The only things that could have made it better would have been if ALL of my favorite people could have been here too.  41 feels good and I’m so thankful for where I am right now.  I thank you all so much for reading along and if you are ever in Disney for your birthday, let me know!  And get that birthday button!!  It’s free and will make your day so special!  Have a magical day everybody!!
