Drink up me hearties!! We finally got to go check out the new Beak and Barrel bar in Magic Kingdom and I am so excited to share my review. The Beak and Barrel is located to the right of the Pirates of the Caribbean exit gift shop. They serve a small menu of bar snacks, signature cocktails, beer, wine and mocktails. The theming in this bar is incredible! There are so many great details and multiple ways to interact with the Cast Members and the bar itself. Let's shove off! Beak And Barrel Theming Review When I say that every detail was thought of, I mean it! Even the way the seating is done fits perfectly into the theme of the Beak and Barrel. The Mess You enter into The Mess, this is the largest room. The Cursed Bar is here as well as an area at the back that still looks like The Brig that used to be here holding unruly pirates. The Cursed Bar holds the enchanted rum bottle and lots of other artifacts. It is also home to Rummy the parrot. There is bar seating, a long communal table, a table in a cell of the brig and some small setting areas along the side. You will see a Pirate napping in a hammock from the ceiling with his dirty foot hanging down And lots of lanterns and pirate treasures as well as lots of Jolly Rogers. The Captain's Quarters To the right of The Mess you will find The Captains' Quarters, this is where we were seated. This area has some tall counter seating, a few tables for two down the center but otherwise, the seating is very curated. What I mean by that is that there are not just a bunch of tables sitting around. There are seating areas instead. Large booths built into the bookshelves and walls and little areas with fancy chairs and small tables. This section of Beak and Barrel is also where you will find the fireplace mantle with the ships in bottles. These ships are known to battle each other randomly! The Mapmakers Room Our next stop on the Beak and Barrel thumbing review is the Mapmaker's Room. This room is off to the left of The Mess and has one large communal table that is a standing table. This room is beautiful! There is a large map on the center wall and tons of smaller maps all over the place. The large shelves in this rom have lots of maps and documents and a mysterious glowing artifact. Somehow I have a feeling. no matter how many times you go, you will always find something new in this place! Beak And Barrel Food Menu Review The Beak and Barrel has a very small food menu that may not be for everyone. We had the Island Provisions and it was delicious! The only sauce I was not a huge fan of was the spiced guava. It was kind of like a thick BBQ sauce. All the other sauces were so good. The garlic chimichurri is the same one served at Skipper Canteen and I could eat it with a spoon! The mango chutney was sweet with a hint of spice and the cilantro sauce was incredible. The plantain chips were also made perfectly and not too salty. I would absolutely get this again! If you are not a super adventurous eater this is your best option here. I can't wait to try some of the other items. You can see the full menu here. Beak And Barrel Drink Menu Review There are some really fun drinks at the Beak and Barrel that I can't wait to go back and try! You can find everything from a margarita to the plunders punch served in a souvenir pirate cup. I went with the Siren's Whisper which is Port & Column Still White Rum BlendBols Blue Curacao Liqueur, Combier Creme de Peche de Vigne Liqueur, lime and cinnamon. This drink was so pretty and very tasty. It is sweet without being too sweet, with a little sour and strong. I am a sucker for a drink in a pretty glass and this definitely served on that front! The husband had the Cursed Treasure. This drink is a blend of coconut milk and cookie crumbs topped with vanilla foam and pirate's gold. This had a light cookies and cream flavor that wasn't too sweet or heavy. Great for kids and won't upset tummies being heavy and too milky in the Florida heat. This also was visually very cute and instagramable! The other option at Beak and Barrel for a mocktail is the Treasure Trove. This comes with cake, chocolate cannonball and caramel popcorn. Of course I am sure you could do a Shirley Temple too but when you're in a pirate bar, you want a pirate drink, right? Beak And Barrel Experience Review If you have ever been to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at the Polynesian, you know what I mean when I say the bar is interactive. While Beak and Barrel does not have something that happens every time a certain drink is ordered, there are still some really fun things that occur throughout your visit! Now, you should know your experience is only going to last for 45 minutes before you have to walk the plank right out the door. And you can only order two alcoholic beverages per person. The Cast Members are quick so you aren't waiting a long time for your food or drinks. Rummy the parrot comes out of the Cursed Bar to rile up the crowd from time to time. He lead the whole bar in a sing along to YoHo, YoHo A Pirates Life For Me. The Cast Members were dancing around the bar, it was great! Later in our visit Rummy came out and warned of a storm coming. Thunder and lightning went off in the bar and the way the wind sound and effects were, it kind of made you feel like you were rocking on rough seas. I am sure there are many other interactive experiences that happen. Which is why we have to go multiple times to try and experience them all! Conclusion The Beak and Barrel is seriously so cool and so much fun! The imagineers have pulled out all the stops with this one. It makes me really excited for all the new stuff to come in Walt Disney World. The attention to detail from the art on the walls to the artifacts on the shelves and the pirate hanging in a hammock from the ceiling. You are never gonna be bored in here. I have to add that all the Cast Members, inside and outside of Beak and Barrel really make this a stellar experience. They were all perfect pirates and seemed to genuinely be having the best time. They truly made all the design details connect with your personal experience. The Beak and Barrel is definitely now on my list of favorite restaurants and bars in Disney World. I don't know if it will stay this way but it was not over crowded when we went, which was great! I didn't feel awkward walking around and checking everything out. There is certainly room for it to end up feeling crowded like Oga's. But if they keep the reservations the way they are now it will be nice. We will absolutely be going back and taking the kids, they will love it! If you have not had luck getting a reservation, keep trying! Even check day off, that's how we ended up with this reservation.
